Product Description:
Golden pheasant tails feathers are widely used by fly tiers to make all kind of flies. The barbs suits perfectly for river flies but also for all kind of salmon patterns. A few years ago, these barbs are started to use for creating superb rhyacophila larva. The original pattern was created by well known tier and fisherman: Oliver Edwards.

Our shop is focused on river fishing mostly and for this reason we use a lot of pheasant feathers to create nymphs, wet flies and dry flies. The nice brown golden pheasant mottled with gold yellow shades are fantastic for making nymphs very close to the natural swimming insects. For this reason, flies tied with barbs from golden pheasant are catching so well. It is known that competitor fishermen are trying to keep their patterns as secret as possible. When you will see one catching so well and you will ask what fly do you use he will answer very often: pheasant tail variant. But he will not mention what kind of pheasant barbs he used to make that fly!
